Why Cow Sites?
Cow Sites is easy to use because there just isn't much to do except upload pics and tweak the design. We intentionally keep our features list slim. You don't have to use a jarring drag&drop interface to customize your site! It just comes pretty by default. It's so easy that most of our users design their sites through a phone.
Also, due to their simplicity, the resulting websites are suuuuper fast. They just don't have all that fancy shit that sites nowadays usually have.
Is it actually free?
Yeah all features are available to everyone. We make money by charging markup on domain purchases. So when you pay $20 yearly for your domain, the money splits between the registrar and Cow Sites' sustainability, and it will still be cheaper than buying a domain on GoDaddy XD
What's your stance on AI?
We do our best to block AI bots from stealing your art. We don't and won't make any use of your data, and won't sell it. We have a normal way to make money =)
Why does Cow Sites exist?

I started working on Cow Sites as an attempt to get people to migrate off of Instagram. I wanted people, especially creatives, to have their own personal websites rather than a stripped-down version of their personality that's been casted to fit Instagram's silo.

Website makers are plenty, but none of them is serving my goal of making personal websites as accessible as possible. They are all amazing for complex, featureful websites; not for an easy way to put your art out on the web.

What sets Cow Sites apart is the simplicity, which is only possible because I chose to omit many features in order to keep the interface intuitive and focused. I've implemented only what I deem essential for an artist that needs a portfolio site. If you're enjoying using Cow Sites, it's probably because of what I didn't add ;]
